Lenka joined PDXPopNow! in Feb 2016 as an Outreach Coordinator, becoming the Outreach Director in August 2016.
Marissa Behringer, Marketing Director, is a Midwest native who transplanted over to the west coast in 2011 after graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in Advertising. Marissa joined the listening committee in 2013 and has been a volunteer with PDX Pop Now! in some capacity ever since. In her 9-5 life, she is the current Marketing Coordinator for the Center for Community Engagement at Lewis & Clark Graduate School. Outside of those hours, she can be found biking about town, checking out shows, and over-ordering at taco carts.
Rosie Blanton, Street Fair Coordinator, moved to Portland in the beginning of 2017. She’s been active in the music scene for over five years by writing for the website Quip Magazine. Once arriving in Portland she began writing for Eleven PDX Magazine where she regularly writes the local feature. She especially loves the DIY scene here in Portland and became involved with PDX Pop Now! because she believes fostering music to all people at all ages is what keeps the scene fresh and flourishing.
Erika Breton, Volunteer Director, came to Portland in 2006 to attend the University of Portland. There she was a DJ at KDUP and studied Elementary Education and Spanish. After graduating in 2010, she began teaching in a Spanish-English bilingual classroom and has been there ever since. Erika has volunteered with PDX Pop Now! since 2013 (at the festival and comp release party, and on the listening committee) and is excited about her new role as Volunteer Coordinator. When not in the classroom or volunteering, she enjoys live music, movies and pizza.
Yume Delegato, Compilation Coordinator, spent two years volunteering on the Booking Committee before joining the PDX Pop Now team as Compilation Coordinator in 2017. Prior to joining the team, Yume wrote the Live Music Blog for 94/7 FM KNRK and has served for the past decade on the Planning Committee for the William Byrd Choral Music Festival. A Portland native, Yume works as an insurance professional and freelance writer. In his free time, he likes to hike and explore Portland’s food and beverage scene.
Sarah Eaton, Merchandise Coordinator, born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, her heart has always belonged to the various arts communities of Portland. Sarah also writes for Eleven PDX Magazine and has had the privilege of getting to know many of Portland’s most beloved bands, many of whom have played PDX Pop Now! in recent years. Sarah began volunteering for PDX Pop Now! in 2015 as part of the listening committee and as a festival volunteer and was so inspired by the mission of PDX Pop Now! – to bring live music to the all-ages community of Portland that she stepped into the role of Merchandise Coordinator later that same year.
Wylie Gibbins, Administrative Director, began volunteering for PDX Pop Now! in 2016 and has helped out with Production, Finance, and Administrative duties. He enjoys going to shows (blues & rock), playing guitar in his band, skiing at Mt Hood, and runs a real estate development company focused on building workforce housing.
Chris Knudson, Production Director, is a wellness entrepreneur in retail sound and light therapy with over 25 years of content and business development, music composition, music production, live performance/presentation, event production, music instrument and software/hardware sales, account and project management, writing and editing, marketing and promotion. He has been a top performer with the Apple Online Store, Guitar Center and Intuit while more recently developing a wellness business concept, LightBody Sound LLC in Portland, Oregon. Over the years, Chris has produced and released records under the Kanude and Val Holler monikers and his music has been featured in HBO’s “True Blood”, as part of the original programming for the inaugural New York Fringe Festival in 1998, and on Robert Rodriguez’ critically acclaimed, low-budget feature film debut “El Mariachi.” He has worked as a live sound engineer and production manager mostly around central Texas for public and private events and provided technical support for SXSW in Austin. In his spare time, he chips away at his severe handicap on the golf course and helps his wife Elizabeth raise their two young children.
Laura Mark, Graphics Coordinator, graduated from Franklin University Switzerland with an artsy degree. After plenty of exploring, she set her roots back down in her favorite place in the world + hometown, good ol’ Portland. She began volunteering for PDX Pop Now! in 2012 + has since volunteered every year + signed onto the team in 2016. Having grown up as music-loving teenager + frustrated by the lack of all-ages shows in Portland, her love of PDX Pop Now! + the annual compilation runs deep. She knows the importance of making local music accessible to all-ages first hand + is pumped to help make it accessible to everyone. When she’s not volunteering she works as a freelance graphic designer/illustrator, goes to shows, draws silly stuff + makes pizza from scratch.
Beth Martin, Media Coordinator & Historian, is a Pacific Northwest native making Portland, Oregon her home since 2006. She is very active in the local music scene by frequenting local concerts, hosting a radio show on Freeform Portland, DJing vinyl sets at venues around town, and volunteering her time with PDX Pop Now! since 2011 as well as with the Oregon Music Hall of Fame since 2015. She currently works in marketing at True West, a live music promoter for shows in the Northwest.
Annie Ostrowski, Media Coordinator, has been a music writer, editor, publicist, and promoter for over 16 years. After receiving her communications degree specializing in journalism and radio, she moved to Portland, OR in 2008. In 2009 she began working with Riot Act Media as a music publicist for six years. She currently works as event director and a rotating DJ at XRAY.FM, and program guide editor for the Noise Pop Festival. Annie began her volunteer work with PDX Pop Now! in 2011 as part of the 2012 festival booking committee and served on the board as Media Director from 2012 – 2017.
Jennifer Thelander, Development Director, moved to Portland in 2010 after working for a small PBS station in Northern California and doing PR for a local roller derby league. As a regular at local shows since high school, she was eager to volunteer for PDX Pop Now! and began serving on the Listening Committee in 2011. Having a background in event management, she took on the role of Logistics Assistant in 2013. She is now the team’s Development Director. Outside Pop Now!, Jennifer provides sex education and advocacy for adults experiencing developmental disabilities, teaches self-defense classes for women and fundraises for non-profits. She is obsessed with tall trees, Madonna, open water swimming, pro wrestling, rocks and minerals, her dog, Scooter, and, of course, live music.
